Why donate to WWF?
The mission of WWF across Asia Pacific is to ensure a future for both people and nature. WWF has been working to conserve Asia Pacific’s astonishing wealth of biodiversity for over four decades and has considerable experience in engaging with partners for conservation solutions that benefit people, economies and the environment
How is WWF fulfilling its mission?
WWF works with partners in scientific research, community programmes, resource management projects, business solutions and policy advocacy, delivering both on the ground conservation and collaborating for sustainability across this dynamic region.
Where does my donation go?
Your donation to WWF will mean that we can continue our conservation work and activities. We work with communities, engage businesses, governments and NGOs as well as advocate for specific species and carry out area conservation programmes. We do everything we can to optimise the support we receive.
In the interest of the general public, we would like to qualify the difference between donations to WWFS Conservation Fund and WWF Singapore.
The WWF office in Singapore serves to raise public awareness on critical conservation and footprint issues and garner support for local, regional and global initiatives to protect, conserve and create a sustainable planet for generations to come.
Programmes / Initiatives:
WWF-Singapore funds local, regional and global initiatives identified as priorities by WWF internationally. These include the conservation of priority areas such as the Coral Triangle and Heart of Borneo, as well as the protection of endangered species and habitats. Our key conservation outcomes are reduction in the ecological footprint, the development of sustainable livelihoods for local communities; and the protection, restoration and conservation of species, habitats and eco-regions. We focus our efforts on awareness building through public education and campaigning, public advocacy, engagement with the local government and agencies on policy issues and work with corporations on inculcating sustainable business practices and exercising their corporate social responsibility for environmental conservation.
WWFS Conservation Fund:
The Conservation Fund supports Singapore-based activities, with the objective of promoting interest in and awareness of environmental conservation amongst the local community. Funds raised for the WWFS Conservation Fund are entitled for tax deductible receipts where conditions are met.
Programmes / Initiatives:
Singapore based initiatives such as public campaigns (Earth Hour and Sustainable Seafood) and school based education programmes.
Which payment server is WWF Singapore using for my online donation via credit card?
WWF Singapore uses RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) WorldPay secure payment server to handle your online donations and membership payments.
Is it safe to use the online credit card payment facility?
Yes, it is safe to donate to WWF Singapore. RBS WorldPay uses the same 128-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology adopted by most banks and, additionally, WorldPay's own unique encryption systems. When you fill up the payment form and click the “Submit” button, a secure link is set up between your browser and WorldPay and an encryption code is requested and received. This then protects the submitted information and transaction details, prior to routing to WorldPay for payment processing.
How do I know if my donation has reached WWF?
If you have donated through your credit card or cheque payment, you will know when you receive your credit card/ bank statement.
What currency can I use to make donations?
At the WWF Singapore website online donation page, you can make a donation in SGD dollars.
Is my donation eligible for tax exemption?
Donations to WWF-World Wide Fund for Nature (Singapore) Limited in support of its local, global and regional initiatives are not eligible for tax deduction. Donations to WWFS Conservation Fund in support of its Singapore based initiatives are eligible for tax deduction (provided the donations satisfy the conditions stipulated by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). )
