3 Singapore Eco-Schools have achieved the International Green Flag Award

In November 2015, Ang Mo Kio Secondary School and Nan Hua High became the first schools in Singapore to achieve the coveted Green Flag award for environmental education under WWF Eco-Schools programme. Commonwealth Secondary joined this progressive group in 2016.
These three schools are the leaders among a growing number of schools that are forward-looking. Eco-Schools are progressive in their focus of supporting the young to establish a Sustainable Value System and develop 21st Century Life Skills. The Eco Schools programme is recognised internationally by the UNEP to be the global model for education in sustainable development. Singapore has seen a growth in WWF Eco-Schools starting with 8 schools in 2013 and reaching 50 schools in 2016. A total of 25 schools in Singapore have marked their sustainability journey through Eco-School programme and awards.

WWF Singapore recognizes the key role children and youths have to play in shaping tomorrow's world. The Eco-Schools programme equips them with the 21st century skills and knowledge they need to be responsible future citizens of our planet and to confidently tackle environmental challenges that lie ahead.
