Top International Award for 2 Singapore Eco-Schools

Ang Mo Kio Secondary School and Nan Hua High have become the first schools in Singapore to achieve the coveted Green Flag award for environmental education under WWFs Eco Schools programme.
They become part of an elite, but growing, number of schools around the world to reach Green Flag status. Representatives from the two schools received their award at WWF-Singapores second Eco Schools Conference at *SCAPE on Friday 6 November 2015.
The Eco Schools programme is recognised internationally by the UNEP to be the global model for education in sustainable development. Singapore has seen a recent growth in WWF Eco Schools from 8 schools in 2013 to 25 participating schools in 2015. A total of 17 schools in Singapore have achieved Eco School awards so far but only 2 have reached Green Flag status.

WWF Singapore recognizes the key role children and youths have to play in shaping tomorrows world. The Eco Schools programme equips them with the skills and knowledge they need to be responsible future caretakers of our planet and tackle environmental challenges that may lie ahead.
