Climate change can have economic impacts, affecting the economy and financial well-being or individuals, businesses and even countries.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that climate change is likely to decrease crop yields in many regions of Asia, including India, this will cause food insecurity for millions of people. In fact, crop yield studies focusing on India have found that global warming has reduced wheat yields by 5.2% from 1981 to 2009, despite adaptation.
