Capital markets are one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against climate change – and one of the most overlooked. We have to do more to harness that power.
Engagement with Regulators
We share insights on ESG issues to support regulators as they develop financial sector guidelines for asset owners, asset (or fund) managers and listed companies, such as stock exchange listing rules, corporate governance codes, and stewardship codes.
We have trained over 800 investors on best practices for integrating ESG into their business strategies.
Elevating the Influence of FIs
By supporting bilateral and collective engagements with investee companies, we aim to elevate investors’ influence on corporate behaviour and empower them to be better stewards of their clients’ assets.
We have published numerous reports and guides on integrating ESG into finance sector activities. In April 2019 we released a new report and framework - "Resilient and Sustainable Portfolios: A Framework for Responsible Investment" - which will support asset managers to develop robust Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) capabilities amidst emerging expectations to manage sustainability risks, opportunities and impacts.
