WWF Singapore is a Singapore-registered charity, founded by WWF International - the global conservation organization. WWF Singapore aspires a future of balance between nature and people and ensuring that wildlife and biodiversity is protected. Its remit includes advocacy on changing laws to be aligned with these priorities and raise awareness for the issues. WWF Singapore works with corporate partners in Singapore to achieve the highest standards in natural resource management and sustainable business practices. It engages in communications, education and outreach to raise awareness of critical environmental issues and collaborates with WWF offices in the region to jointly campaign as well as raise funds for important conservation programmes. The WWF Singapore office also provides a hub for the regional staff of WWF and supports WWF's operational functions. It works with government, business, other NGOs and the local Singapore community to spearhead efforts in building the region’s expertise in planning and managing natural resources wisely.
You will play a pivotal role for the Chief, Strategic Communications and our communications team. We are a dynamic team of over 20 delivering an integrated communications strategy in support of WWF-Singapore’s conservation priorities. The successful Business Manager will be the 'glue' that ensures the many activities of the team come together by ensuring progress on team initiatives, project management, finance and budget tracking, as well as any other administrative functions required to keep the team operating efficiently and effectively. We are looking for a well-rounded professional who is ready to learn quickly and not afraid of rolling up their sleeves and help tackle some of the most pressing issues facing humankind today.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the Chief’s day-to-day calendar, including organizing and minuting meetings and follow ups on items discussed in these meetings. He/she assists in meeting preparation and ensures required input for team meetings is collected from the relevant team members and distributed well in advance
Works closely and effectively with the Unit Heads to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
Maintains an overview and ensures progress on major cross-functional initiatives and projects.
Responsible for overall team budget and expenditure tracking.
Assists with the management of team-related procurement and travel.
Oversees regular status updates and team check-ins.
Helps organise workshops and events.
Performs other related duties as needed to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the team.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment and enjoying a variety of responsibilities
Highly collaborative, constructive and solution oriented
Understanding the key stakeholders internally and externally and nurturing the relationships ensuring the Head/team are well represented at all times
Good multi-tasker with a disciplined and organised approach and a meticulous attention to detail
Experience in project management where there are multiple and competing priorities
Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and spoken English
Ability to operate independently and with limited supervision but know when to seek input
Passionate about conservation and driving real impact
