About World Wide Fund for Nature, Singapore (WWF): WWF Singapore is a Singapore-registered charity, founded by WWF International - the global conservation organization. WWF Singapore works with corporate partners in Singapore for best practices in natural resource management, engages in communications and outreach to raise awareness of critical environmental issues and collaborates with WWF offices in the region to raise funds for important conservation programmes. The WWF Singapore office also provides a hub for regional staff of WWF and supports WWF's operational functions. It works with government, business, other NGOs and the local Singapore community to spearhead efforts to build the region’s expertise in planning and managing natural resources wisely.


Major Functions:

The Engagement Assistant Manager sets the tone for the hundreds of touch points each year to engage our supporters, schools and partners. You are discreet, strong, and humble; able to  expresses genuine concern and interest; exercise caution to avoid unnecessary risks; know intuitively when a situation or conversation is heading in the wrong direction; and in moments of chaos, you continually rely on your developed organizational prowess, your strong ability to prioritize and communicate effectively to get you through even the most demanding of situations.   


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the engagement requests from internal teams, prioritise and manage a calendar of engagement activities and coordinate their execution.

  • Develop and deliver high quality engagement programmes; recruit, train and supervise freelance staff to execute high quality engagements.

  • Oversee the development and upkeep of engagement resources and collaterals to maintain accuracy and relevance; provide training to volunteers, freelancers and staff as necessary to support execution of engagements.

  • Ability to conduct indoor and outdoor training, involving volunteers, staff and freelancers in a variety of settings such as large and small group facilitation and active and hands-on engagements for a broad range of target audience.

  • Administer all internal engagement requests and related issues in an efficient manner; develop processes to ensure evaluation and review of engagements; safeguard intellectual property rights of proprietary materials and processes; and maintain accurate records and feedback (testimonials).

  • Track multiple budgets; maintain a list of service providers to execute an efficient fulfilment system; develop cost management strategies;

  • To lead and manage the team with one direct report, freelancers and volunteers. This includes undertaking appraisals, supervision, and setting and monitoring objectives and KPIs


III. Profile


Required Qualifications:               

  •  At least three years’ working experience in a similar capacity

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Education, Training and Development, or a related field

  • Work experience beyond an education institution setting would be an advantage.


Required skills and competencies:

  • Experience in developing and delivering high quality engagement programmes.

  • Ability to hire, train and supervise freelance staff as well as volunteers to support high standards of engagement.

  • Capability to conduct indoor and outdoor training, group facilitation and hands-on engagement for a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Skills to work effectively with volunteers, full-time, part-time and administrative staff.

  • Knowledge of budgeting practices, and the ability to comprehend, determine and manage budgets for assigned engagement areas.

  • Has a strong stakeholder focus and service-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively with people while communicating well both orally and in writing.

  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.


IV. Working Relationships:


Internal - Works closely with the Head of Education and Outreach, Assistant Manager - Community and Assistant Manager - Engagement, corporate engagement and donor retention teams.

External - Works closely with community and corporate partners, vendor and service providers, freelancers and volunteers.
