Rohaya started her environmental journey with then Ministry of the Environment and later the National Environment Agency. In her 30 years with the public service, she was involved in formulating policy frameworks and programmes on environmental monitoring, pollution control, chemicals and hazardous waste management. She saw through the implementation of these programmes on the ground. She collaborated with international and regional partners towards effective implementation of multilateral environmental agreements that Singapore is a party to. She also served as a climate negotiator with the Singapore delegation to UNFCCC Conference of Parties from 2016 to 2019.
In 2021, she joined Mandai Wildlife Group (MWG) as the Vice President, Sustainable Solutions, bringing along her experience and expertise. MWG’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions well before 2050 has gained momentum. The group recently committed to the science based targets.
