When Karni Kate turned 10 in March 2007, she wanted a special birthday experience for her and her friends.
Karni sent out invitations for her birthday party – for a day that was to be of fun and laughter, over food and games with friends. But for this birthday, Karni’s friends will not be buying her presents.
Instead of presents, Karni wished for the money to be used for a better cause. And since Karni has always been passionate about the wild life, and its conservation, Karni requested for her friends to donate to the WWF, instead of showering her with presents.
Karni and her mother walked into WWF Singapore on 1st June 2007. She had in hand a beautiful self-decorated box, which she had kept the donations from her birthday party. In all, Karni and her friends contributed donations amounting to SGD $300. We thank Karni, her parents, and her friends for their generosity towards WWF!
