Policy and Advocacy

Sound public policy is critical to the success of long-term conservation. Nature underpins our economy, our society, indeed our very existence. People and nature benefit when the natural environment in and around, including within cities, is enhanced. More needs to be done at the government-policy level to tackle the environmental challenges that face our city state and the region. WWF-Singapore engages with governments on selective strategic policy issues, advocating change and effective conservation policy to secure protection for nature within Singapore and across the region. We take an evidence-based approach to our conservation policy work and are committed to real, measurable outcomes for the environment which directly benefit Singapore and beyond.

WWF’s policy and advocacy work focuses on five key areas: climate change, illegal wildlife trade, biodiversity and green cities, oceans and plastic pollution.
