Building a future in which people live in harmony with nature

ONE PLANET. INFINITE WAYS TO PROTECT IT.

WWF works internationally on no fewer than 3000 projects simultaneously. We work for the animals, areas and subjects that need our attention and where we can make the most impact.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which people live in harmony with nature, by: conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.

In Singapore, we work on priority conservation issues, bringing individuals, communities, businesses and governments together to enable change for a resilient future.

CLIMATE

Climate change poses a fundamental threat to everything we love. Current emissions put the world on track to breach tipping points of 1.5°C that will cause irreversible impacts to people, environments and economies.

SUSTAINABILITY & CIRCULAR ECONOMY

The Earth provides an abundance of natural resources that allow humans to live and thrive. However, human activity and negligence have seen to it that these resources are over-used and they are running out.

NATURE & BIODIVERSITY

The preservation of nature and biodiversity is the only way forward to ensure a future for both people and nature.

CLOSER TO HOME

A sustainable, green future is only possible if governments, organisations and people work together to protect the natural world. Nature and people living in tandem are the only way forward.

OUR LOCAL INVOLVEMENT

POLICY & ADVOCACY

WWF-Singapore actively engages with national and regional governments to strengthen policies that ensure sustainable natural resource use, ecosystem preservation and the combatting of climate change. Through evidence-based recommendations, we advocate for bold and ambitious actions at local to global levels to transform Singapore into a City in Nature.

EDUCATION & OUTREACH

People are at the heart of a sustainable future. WWF-Singapore engages people where they live, learn, work and play to encourage them to join us in the journey to shape and create a sustainable future for Singapore.

Towards a plastic-lite Singapore

Waste generation, especially of plastics, is reaching crisis levels with far-reaching implications for our health and ecosystems. Waste management services are struggling to cope with huge amounts of plastic waste. To stem this tide, WWF-Singapore is collaborating with multiple stakeholders to reduce waste and move towards a circular economy. Consumers can make informed and sustainable choices about their plastic output by following our work.

Sustainable Business

WWF-Singapore strives to set impactful industry aspirations on sustainability in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Through consultation and close collaboration with businesses, we build platforms, tools and practical solutions closely guided by data and science that help entire sectors to become more sustainable.

ASFI ACADEMY

The Asia Sustainable Finance Initiative (ASFI) is a multi-stakeholder forum, incubated by WWF Singapore that aims to harness and amplify the power of the finance sector to create low-carbon, climate resilient economies that deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
