LEGACY GIFTS

PROTECTING NATURE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS

Human activities have made an unprecedented impact on the planet. Through deforestation, overexploitation of natural resources, illegal wildlife trade, infrastructure expansion and pollution, we have taken nature for granted and driven biodiversity loss and climate change. But this doesn’t have to be our legacy for future generations.

Your legacy gift will allow WWF to build on our past successes and expertise to implement long-term strategic programmes around the region. From protecting endangered species and conserving landscapes to providing environmental education to children and alternative livelihoods to local communities, you are investing in nature for the future.

You may also choose to dedicate your legacy gift to support initiatives in Singapore exclusively. In this case, we will channel your gift towards the WWFS Conservation Fund – an Institution of a Public Character managed by WWF-Singapore and administered by our Board of Trustees. To find out more about how you can make a legacy gift and/or dedicate your gift to the WWFS Conservation Fund, please refer to the following instructions and our FAQs.

Giving A Legacy Gift

Giving through Central Provident Fund (CPF) monies or insurance policies

The process to nominate WWF as a beneficiary of your CPF savings is simple, thanks to the process that has been put in place by CPF. You will need to fill out the CPF Cash Nomination Form [Form 6A(1)], which can be found on CPF's website or at any CPF branch office. Alternatively, you can also make a nomination online using your SingPass. Please visit the CPF Nomination Scheme website for more details and step-by-step instructions.

Similarly, you may also nominate WWF Singapore as a beneficiary of your life insurance via your policy nomination form. The following information about WWF Singapore will be useful in your nomination:

Name of Nominee:WWF-World Wide Fund For Nature (Singapore) Limited
UEN:200602275E
Registered address:Tanglin International Centre,
354 Tanglin Road, #02-11
Singapore 247672
Relationship:Organisation

All legacy gifts we receive are intended to be unrestricted, supporting all WWF strategic initiatives. If you would like to restrict your legacy gift to support initiatives in Singapore exclusively, please kindly indicate this clearly in your nomination form or write to us at bequests@wwf.sg to specify your intention.

Giving through your Will

You may also choose to include WWF-World Wide Fund for Nature (Singapore) Limited in your Will. Whether you give a set amount or a percentage of your estate, you can have an extraordinary, positive impact on our natural world.

If you would like the gift to be used to support initiatives in Singapore exclusively, please indicate clearly in your will that your gift is to be used for the purpose of the WWFS Conservation Fund. Additionally, you can write to us at bequests@wwf.sg to let us know of your giving intention; we would love to hear from you.

For assistance on drafting or updating a will, you may refer to Singapore’s Law Gazette’s guide and speak with your lawyer. Should you need any additional information from WWF Singapore, you may contact us at bequests@wwf.sg.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should I consider legacy giving?

Everyone can leave a legacy gift, no matter how big or small. We are grateful for every gift we receive and together with other donors, you are helping to protect our incredible nature for many generations to come.

For which purpose will my legacy gift be used?

Your legacy gift will enable us to continue to focus on the most strategic and long-term priorities that tackle the toughest conservation challenges. This includes initiatives to protect and restore wildlife, forests, oceans and freshwater landscapes, while promoting sustainable livelihoods of local communities. To learn more about our work, please click here.

Can I specify a purpose for my gift?

You can choose to allow us to apply the gift where it is needed the most or you may choose to specify a particular purpose that is close to your heart (for example, wildlife conservation, forest restoration, ocean protection, or environmental education). We will honour any condition relating to the use of the donation where practically possible, in accordance with the law. We seek your understanding not to narrowly define the intended use of the gift, as this may prevent us from utilising the donation to its full potential.

Would it be possible to dedicate my legacy gift only to initiatives in Singapore?

We certainly can honour your wish to dedicate your donation to initiatives in Singapore. Your gift will be channelled to the WWFS Conservation Fund, a special fund that was set up to support initiatives in Singapore. (To find more about the programmes happening in Singapore, please visit Closer to Home)

We are also happy to share that gifts dedicated to the WWFS Conservation Fund will be tax-deductible. To ensure that we can honour your intention, please clearly indicate in your nomination form or Will that the money is to be used for the purpose of WWFS Conservation Fund. We would appreciate it if you could inform us of your legacy giving plan via the Contact form below, or via email at bequests@wwf.sg.

What kind of gift can I make?

You can name WWF-Singapore as a beneficiary of your CPF monies, insurance policies or your Will. You can specify a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate or the remaining value of your estate to WWF-Singapore after your loved ones and other beneficiaries have been provided for.

I have already made a will. Do I need to make a new one?

We recommend that you check with your solicitor who can help to ensure that any addition or change to your will is legally recognised. You may find information published by credible sources such as Singapore’s Law Gazette or the government’s My Legacy website to be useful.

Can I involve my family in the making of a legacy gift?

We highly encourage you to involve your loved ones in your planning and decision of making a legacy gift. We are here to provide any support if needed and to ensure that you and your family have a positive giving experience.

I would like to remember my loved one who passed away. Can I make a legacy gift to WWF-Singapore?

Yes. You can make a donation in remembrance of a departed loved one or friend. Donations can be made directly via online or via cheque.

For cheque payment:
Please make a cheque payable to World Wide Fund for Nature (Singapore) Limited or WWF-Singapore.

Please note that if you would like to support our initiatives in Singapore specifically, please make your gift directly to the WWFS Conservation Fund by making a cheque payable to WWFS Conservation Fund.

Once the cheque is dispatched or a transfer is made, please kindly share the details with us at bequests@wwf.sg so that we can confirm the receipt of the donation with you.
