Today, we are using more resources than nature can sustainably provide. This overconsumption comes at a cost to nature, contributing to excessive waste and polluting natural environments. To ensure a thriving nature and liveable climate, we need to change the way we think about waste.
WWF works with schools in Singapore to change the way they approach waste and support a circular economy.
Students learn about circular economy using the Ellen MacArthur concepts. They then apply design thinking to formulate an action plan that will be implemented in their school or local community to better manage waste over a period of time.
How does the project work?
Selected students are trained to survey and identify the school’s waste management system and challenges.
The school sets targets to adopt a more circular approach of waste managing through innovation and design thinking.
