On behalf of WWF-Singapore, we are deeply saddened by Kirtida’s sudden passing and extend our deepest condolences to Bharat and the Mekani family.
Kirtida was a cherished Board Member of WWF-Singapore, having served with us for nearly five years since joining in May 2021. During this time, she was a respected and trusted voice, bringing clarity, purpose and a strong belief in partnership to our work.
She was a dedicated advocate for conservation and community impact, and her support strengthened important areas of our work, from nurturing young environmental leaders, to protecting Singapore’s coastal and marine environments, and advancing climate and sustainability efforts through collaboration with partners and communities. At the heart of this was her deep belief in connecting people with nature in meaningful and lasting ways.
At WWF-Singapore, we will remember Kirtida for her wisdom, steady counsel and generosity of spirit. Her contributions have left a lasting impression on our organisation and on all who had the privilege of working with her.
We are profoundly grateful for the privilege of having walked part of this journey with her.
