Major Functions:
The Assistant Manager / Manager, Programme Operations plays a central role in enabling the effective delivery of WWF-Singapore’s Conservation & Science portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of programme management and operations, ensuring that conservation initiatives are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with organisational priorities.
Working closely with senior leadership, thematic leads, and project managers, the role drives programme performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio spanning local and regional programmes.
This position requires a systems thinker who can operate across strategic and operational levels: strengthening processes, supporting decision-making, and enabling teams to deliver measurable conservation impact at scale.
Responsibilities:
Programme Management and Oversight:
- Support the delivery of conservation outcomes across both Singapore-based and regionally supported initiatives by applying WWF Programme management standards, tools, and best practices
- Work with project managers to synthesise and escalate risks and operational bottlenecks they identify, ensuring issues are communicated to the appropriate teams and addressed through coordinated solutions
- Work closely with project managers and thematic leads to ensure timely delivery of milestones and alignment with organisational priorities
- Strengthen and standardise project review and approval processes to ensure quality, consistency, and accountability
Operations and Financial Coordination:
- Coordinate with Finance and programme teams to ensure alignment between budgets, funding, expenditure and any other reporting requirements.
- Oversee the development and implementation of enhanced operational processes including SOPs, contracting, procurement, and inter-office agreements to enable smooth project delivery
- Contribute to WWF-Singapore’s reporting to the global network, ensuring accurate tracking of impact and contributions
Programme Quality Assurance, Learning and Systems Strengthening:
- Drive a culture of learning and adaptive management, supporting teams to reflect on performance and improve programme delivery
- Strengthen internal systems, SOPs, and workflows across the programme lifecycle—from design to implementation and reporting
- Contribute to organisational initiatives such as digital transformation and data systems, improving efficiency and decision-making
Skills and Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or a relevant field
- At least 4-6 years of financial/programme management experience within an international organization, audit firm or charity with complex donor requirements
- Excellent knowledge of project accounting and programme operation management
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other data visualisation tools, dashboards or programme management systems and comfortable working with large data sets
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritise and operate under tight deadlines
- Experience working with international teams and achieving impact
- Team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Criteria
- An interest in conservation and sustainability.
- Experience working with stakeholders in Southeast Asia.
