As the Intern, Carbon Finance and Markets, you will support the design, coordination and implementation of WWF-Singapore’s programmatic work on carbon markets, both voluntary and compliance-based. This position requires an understanding of carbon finance mechanisms, market dynamics, standards and policy frameworks, and nature-based solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of WWF-Singapore’s carbon finance initiatives and programmes, that promote high-integrity carbon markets, especially in nature-based solutions.
- Support engagements with governments, businesses, and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of WWF’s carbon finance mechanisms.
- Coordinate WWF-Singapore’s carbon finance programmes with the WWF Network’s working groups on carbon finance..
- Support the planning and documentation of virtual meetings, webinars, and events related to carbon finance and markets.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts for WWF’s carbon markets work through proposal development, donor engagement, and reporting.
- Support the financial and administrative management of selected carbon market programmes and grants.
Skills and Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s or advanced undergraduate program in environmental science, economics, policy, climate studies, sustainable finance, or related field.
- Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
- Knowledge of carbon certification standards, climate policy, or nature-based solutions as well as familiarity with global climate frameworks (e.g. Paris Agreement).
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written); other languages are a plus.
Having these are a plus
- Experience in data analysis, policy research, or communications.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in the environmental or nonprofit sector
