Position title: Manager/Senior Manager, Strategic Communications

As Singapore strengthens its leadership in sustainability, WWF-Singapore plays a critical role in advancing credible, science-based narratives and partnerships that address climate change, biodiversity loss, and systemic environmental challenges.

Overview

The Manager/Senior Manager, Strategic Communications leads the development and execution of integrated communications strategies that strengthen WWF-Singapore’s reputation, influence and impact across Singapore and the region.

The role is responsible for shaping compelling narratives, advancing thought leadership, supporting flagship initiatives and strengthening engagement with key stakeholders across government, corporate and public audiences. As a trusted communications advisor to leadership and internal teams, the incumbent ensures communications are strategic, consistent and aligned with WWF’s mission, organisational priorities and global positioning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Communications & External Positioning

        • Develop and implement integrated communications strategies aligned to WWF-Singapore’s organisational priorities
        • Translate complex environmental and sustainability topics into clear, credible narratives for diverse audiences
        • Lead media engagement and produce high-quality external materials — releases, op-eds, key messages, and leadership profiles
        • Identify opportunities to position WWF-Singapore and its leaders as trusted voices on climate, nature, and sustainable finance

        2. Stakeholder Counsel & Issues Management

        • Work with relevant WWF Programme Teams to develop innovative strategies to on-board companies or corporate partnership Identify and foster strong relationships with new corporate prospects via inbound and outbound leads.
        • Engage with existing corporate partners, and renew their support, to ensure long-term partnerships.
        • Generate fresh leads via business development and outreach activities and pave the way to engage in new corporate partnerships.
        • Take charge of managing some key industry sectors for corporate partnerships engagements
        • Collaborate with other teams within WWF and contribute to ongoing programme discussions regarding conservation and outreach projects based in Singapore.

        3. Cross-functional Integration & Impact Measurement

        • Collaborate across the WWF network and internal teams (e.g. Conservation, Carbon Finance, Partnerships, and Content & Engagement) to align communications with programme priorities.
        • Manage communications-related procurement and vendor relationships, including agencies and service providers, ensuring effective delivery, budget oversight and compliance with organisational policies and processes.
        • Track and evaluate communications performance across reach, engagement, and contribution to organisational impact.
        • Support reporting of communications outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
        • Experience with B2B social media is a value-add, collaborating with the Content & Engagement function.

        Qualifications & Experience

        • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
        • Minimum 6–10 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public affairs, media relations, or corporate communications, ideally within sustainability, climate, conservation or related sectors.
        • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies across earned, owned and digital channels, including media engagement, stakeholder communications, social media and content development. Familiarity with visual content creation is advantageous.
        • Excellent writing and editorial skills, with experience producing high-quality communications materials such as media releases, op-eds, reports, speeches and leadership communications.
        • Experience working with government agencies, corporates, industry bodies or multi-stakeholder partnerships is advantageous.

        • Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to translate organisational priorities into integrated communications approaches that strengthen influence, reputation and stakeholder engagement.
        • Sound judgement and strong political awareness, with the confidence and maturity to provide trusted counsel to senior leaders and navigate complex or sensitive issues.
        • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility, influence outcomes and foster productive relationships across diverse audiences.
        • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and a collaborative leadership style, while upholding WWF’s mission, values and organisational culture.
        • Highly organised, adaptable and resilient, with a positive and solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage competing priorities, anticipate risks, identify opportunities and deliver impact in a fast-paced environment.
