On behalf of the Board and management of WWF-Singapore, we wish to express our deepest sympathies to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the family of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
Having led Singapore’s incredible success story, Mr Lee was from the start a champion of the environment. It was his vision that led to Singapore achieving its status as a true City in A Garden. From our nation’s reservoirs, to our lush parks, nature reserves and to the trees that line our roads, every day we are reminded of Mr Lee’s lasting legacy. WWF-Singapore will continue to work with our partners and Singaporeans to support and promote this message of sustainability.
Singapore has lost a great leader, but we are certain his vision for a sustainable Singapore will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
As a mark of respect to Mr Lee, WWF-Singapore will be cancelling the Earth Hour event. In place of the event, the team at WWF-Singapore will join the global community for the lights off by forming a 60+ Earth Hour logo with LED candles outside ION Orchard at 8.30 pm on 28 March 2015.
